Dane Directory Sponsor Agreement
The short version. You're buying advertisement space on a postcard we mail to 500 Phoenix Metro Valley contractors every month. You reserve with a deposit that's credited to your first 3 months (or pay all 3 months at once), then pay monthly. Your card mails once it has at least 4 paid sponsors. If it hasn't reached 4 sponsors within 60 days of your payment, you can ask for a full refund or keep your reservation. The deposit isn't refundable if you simply back out. There's a 3-month minimum, and after that you can cancel with 30 days' notice. We don't promise results and we never give out mailing addresses; after each mailing you get a private page showing which contractors your card went to. Sponsoring has nothing to do with insurance.
1. Who this agreement is between
This agreement is between Danesure, Inc., doing business as Dane Directory ("Dane Directory", "we", "us") and the business that buys a sponsor spot ("you", the "Sponsor"). The person who accepts it confirms they are authorized to sign for that business. You accept it by ticking "I agree" at checkout, by signing a copy, or by paying an invoice that refers to it.
2. What you're buying
A sponsor spot: advertisement space on the front of the Dane Directory Sponsor Mailer, a 6×11 inch postcard (the "Welcome to the Trade" card) mailed each month to about 500 contractors with business addresses in the Phoenix metro Valley (Maricopa County ZIP codes), Arizona (the "Phoenix Metro Valley"): every business newly licensed by the Arizona Registrar of Contractors the month before, plus established contractors to make up the rest. You choose the spot type: a regular spot or the featured spot. Your spot includes:
- Design of your spot from your logo, a message of up to 25 words and a call to action, with one round of revisions.
- Your own tracked QR code and short link (danedirectory.com/go/your-name).
- A monthly report: cards mailed carrying your spot, the city and trade mix, the USPS delivery tracking rate, and QR scans.
- A "Mailer sponsor" label on your own Dane Directory listing. It's a label only. Directory ranking is never for sale.
The audience, mailing dates and what the card includes are described on danedirectory.com/sponsors as of the day you sign. Recipient counts are estimates and change month to month (see section 9).
3. Price and payment
- Price. The monthly price for your spot is the one shown on danedirectory.com/sponsors and at checkout (or on your invoice) on the day you sign. Prices don't include any sales or transaction privilege tax that applies; if tax applies, it is added.
- First 3 months paid up front, in one of two ways:
- Deposit, then balance. You pay a $100 deposit to reserve your spot. It is credited in full to your first 3 months. You pay the balance (3 months' fees less the deposit) when we tell you your card is confirmed to mail. Section 5 has the rules.
- All at once. You pay all 3 months in one payment when you sign.
- Then monthly, from month 4. From your fourth month you're billed monthly in advance, to the card or bank account you paid with, until you cancel. Our checkout provider (Stripe) shows the first 90 days as a "trial". It isn't free: it's the period you already prepaid.
- Month 1 is the calendar month of your card's first mailing. If your card mails later than your payment date, we move your first monthly charge so that you're never billed for month 4 before your third month of mailings is done.
- Price review and rate lock. Prices apply to spots booked now. We review pricing after 6 months (April 2027). Your rate is locked for 12 months from signing. This is the same for every sponsor and is not a discount.
- Late payment. If a monthly payment fails and isn't fixed within 10 days, we may leave your spot off the next mailing and offer the category to someone else.
4. Term and cancellation
- 3-month minimum. Your agreement runs for at least the 3 prepaid months.
- After that, month to month. You can cancel at any time after the minimum by giving 30 days' notice by email or in writing. Your spot runs, and is billed, through the end of that notice period.
- The prepaid 3 months are not refundable once your card has started mailing, except as described in sections 5, 10 and 12.
5. When your card launches, deposits, and the refund rules
- Category confirmation. Within 1 business day of your payment we confirm your category is available on the card. If it isn't, we refund your payment in full.
- The 4-sponsor rule. Each card mails once 4 spots on that card are sold (the goal is 6 per card). Our own house ads fill any open spots.
- No fixed launch date. Your card mails as soon as it has at least 4 paid sponsors. We tell you the mail date in writing once your card reaches 4.
- The 60-day refund rule. If your card hasn't reached 4 paid sponsors within 60 days of your payment, you may request a full refund of what you've paid, or keep your reservation. If you keep waiting, you can still request the refund at any time until your card is confirmed to mail. No monthly charges are taken before your card has mailed.
If you reserved with the $100 deposit:
- What it holds. Once paid, the deposit holds your category on the card. We confirm the category and your card in writing within 1 business day (a full refund if the category is already taken). Your balance is due only after we confirm your card's mailing date.
- Confirmed to mail. When your card has its 4 sold spots, about 10 days before the mail date, we send you a notice that your card is confirmed to mail, with a link to pay the balance.
- Balance due in 5 days. The balance is due within 5 days of that notice. If it isn't paid by then, we may release your spot and category, and the deposit is kept.
- If you back out at any time after paying the deposit, the deposit is not refundable, except under the 60-day refund rule above.
- If your card hasn't reached 4 paid sponsors within 60 days of your deposit, you may request a full refund of your $100 deposit, or keep your reservation.
6. Category exclusivity
We sell one spot per category. While you're a current, paid sponsor, we won't sell another spot in your category on the mailer (on card A or card B). We decide category definitions in good faith and confirm yours in writing. Exclusivity covers the Phoenix Metro Valley mailer you bought only. It doesn't cover any other edition we may start later (for example, Tucson), the Dane Directory website, our own house ads, or businesses in a different category that offer some overlapping services. Insurance is not an available category. Bonding and surety are available only after a conflict check.
7. Your ad: materials, approval and content rules
- Materials. Send your logo, message (up to 25 words), call to action and QR destination link by the 20th of the month before the mailing. If they're late, we run your last approved ad, or a simple spot with your business name and phone number, and that month still counts.
- Proof and approval. We send you a proof. You get one round of changes. We approve every ad before it prints, and we may refuse or ask you to change an ad that breaks these rules. You can change your message once a quarter.
- Content rules. Your ad must be truthful and lawful, and you must hold any license you advertise. No misleading or unsupported claims (including regulated claims about lending rates, legal results or guaranteed savings), nothing designed to look like a government notice, and nothing that offers, sells or mentions insurance. You are responsible for your own advertising rules (for example bar, lender or licensing-board requirements).
- Your rights. You confirm you own or may use every logo, name and image you send, and you let us print them on the card, the QR landing short link and your report for the length of this agreement.
- Every card says "Advertisement" and that it is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Arizona Registrar of Contractors or any government agency.
8. The recipient list
Recipient addresses come from the Arizona Registrar of Contractors' public license records. We never give you, sell you or show you mailing addresses, so no one can mail your card's list, and you agree not to ask for them.
Your private recipient page. After each mailing you get a private link showing the contractors your card went to: business name, trade, city, a link to each one's free Dane Directory listing, and any business phone, website or email the business publishes about itself. Many new businesses have none yet; we don't promise a number. Anyone who opts out is removed. The link is for you only and we may replace or turn it off at any time.
If you reach out to them, you agree to:
- mention the card and keep it a friendly welcome, not a hard sell;
- call business lines only, and never use auto-dialers, prerecorded or AI voice calls, or cold text messages;
- follow the CAN-SPAM Act and the TCPA, include an easy way to opt out in any email, and send no more than one follow-up;
- stop when anyone asks, and tell us so we remove them from every sponsor's page;
- not sell, share, publish or upload the page or its contents anywhere else.
If you break these rules we may turn off your page, and repeated or serious misuse is a breach under section 11.
9. No results guarantee
We don't promise or predict any number of calls, leads, scans, customers or sales. Results depend on your offer, your category and the month. The card mails to about 500 contractors a month. Every new licensee is included, so in a month with more than 500 new licenses the count is higher; the mix of new and established contractors changes every month; the monthly price doesn't change with it. We report what was mailed and what was scanned.
10. Make-goods for missed mailings
If we miss a scheduled mailing that should have carried your spot, or your spot is left off or materially misprinted because of our error, we will, at your choice, run your spot in the next available mailing at no charge or credit you that month's fee. Delays or non-delivery caused by the U.S. Postal Service, weather or other events outside our control are not missed mailings, but we'll tell you when they happen.
11. Ending the agreement early
We may end this agreement with written notice if you don't pay, if your ad breaks the content rules and you don't fix it, or if you misuse the program. If we discontinue the mailer ourselves, we refund any months you prepaid that haven't mailed yet, pro rata.
12. Limits on liability
Our total liability under this agreement is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim. Neither of us is liable to the other for lost profits or indirect, special or consequential damages. You are responsible for the content of your ad and will cover our reasonable costs if a third party makes a claim against us because of it. Nothing in this section limits a refund or credit you're owed under sections 5, 10 or 11.
13. Not insurance, and not tied to insurance
This is an advertising agreement only. It provides no insurance of any kind and no insurance advice. Danesure, Inc. also operates DANESURE, a licensed insurance brokerage, and Dane Suite. Sponsorship is never tied to buying insurance or any other product: your price doesn't depend on it, buying insurance never earns you a discount, rebate or better placement on the mailer, and sponsoring never earns you anything on an insurance policy (Arizona's anti-rebating law, A.R.S. §20-451).
14. Governing law
Arizona law governs this agreement. Any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Maricopa County, Arizona.
15. Changes to this agreement
The version you accept governs your first 3 months. We may update this agreement after that by giving you 30 days' notice by email; if you don't agree to the change, you can cancel before it takes effect. This page shows the current version and its date.
